Welcome to the page of the Rutgers-New Brunswick/Piscataway Roosevelt Institution chapter! I hope you find everything you need to know about our chapter here, and if you have any further questions or would like to get involved, please feel free to contact us at joeshure@gmail.com.



We meet at 9 p.m. each Wednesday in room B3 of Frelinghuyson.



This year, our chapter is employing a two-fold strategy to engage Rutgers' student body in a variety of important issues. We'll research local issues during the fall semester in hopes of spurring debate and change on campus. The next phase comes during the first 100 days of the next presidential administration.  We'll publish a journal of original research and host a series of events that will bring experts to the table in talking about ways to solve the challenges the next President will face.

Fall Semester:

Energy at Rutgers: We are developing strategies our University can employ to become more environmentally responsible. We conduct research on technologies such as solar panels and alternative fuels in an effort to devise cost-effective ways to increase the sustainability of Rutgers' day-to-day operations.

Tenants' Rights in New Brunswick: Landlords in New Brunswick often charge their tenants more than the law allows them to. But unless these tenants are aware of the laws aimed to protect them, they are unable to exercise their rights as renters. We are drafting plans for programs to educate New Brunswick's renting population about what their rights are and what action they can take when they suspect they've been treated unfairly.

Spring Semester:

We'll publish a journal containing our recommendations for issues affecting Rutgers, New Brunswick and the nation. We'll also hold a series of events aimed at engaging and educating students at Rutgers in four key issues: Education, Healthcare, the Environment and Economic Development.
